Paleo Lunch & Dinner

Lunch was super easy. Chopped kale with tomato and pine nuts with fresh squeezed lemon and 1/4 roasted chicken.

Dinner was just as easy.

Day 3... Water

A big helper in the battle for clear skin is water.  So as I am trying to ditch diet sodas I have become pretty creative with my water.  I like bubbly water with flavor but didn't want all of those creepy additives they add.  Or fake lemon.  So I started making spa water.  At every spa I have traveled to I have been amazed at the creative flavors they come up with.

Here are a few of my favorite recipes.

Apple & Cinnamon
Makes one big pitcher, re-fill water 3-4 times before replacing apples and cinnamon.  Or just eat the apples when the water runs out.  Apples and cinnamon boost metabolism.

1 Apple thinly sliced
1 Cinnamon Stick ( I like 3 but that but me a bit much)
Drop apple slices in the bottom of the pitcher and then the cinnamon stick, place in the fridge for 10 minutes before serving, over ice.

Strawberry Mint
This can be done with lemon, lavender, berries or other fruit.  Mint is good for digestion.

6 strawberries cut in half
6 mint leaves ( Again I double this)
water
Drop strawberries slices in the bottom of the pitcher and then the mint leaves, place in the fridge for 10 minutes before serving, over ice.

Peach & Honey
1 tsp. honey
1 peach sliced

Drop peach slices in the bottom of the pitcher and then add water, add honey and stir.   Place in the fridge for 10 minutes before serving, over ice.

Day 2 of the Skin Care Shape-Up Challenge

Healthy skin starts from the inside, bad diet choices lead to breakouts, dehydration and dull looking skin.  For the next 45 days I am have eliminating grain, dairy, and legumes.   Here is my meal plan for the week.  I will post some recipes as the week goes on.  On the shopping list I didn't include quantities because I am 1 person, so you will have to adjust it if you have a family you cook for.

Day 1 of the Skin Care Shape-Up Challenge

My Skin Care Plan For Week 1 of The Skin Care Shape-Up Challenge.

I am a huge fan of Jan Marini Skin Research and their Skin Care Management Set.  Naturally my plan starts with that and includes a few extras to jump start my skin health.  I have dry skin that is prone to breakouts and I have been using Glycolic, retinol and other AHAs for some time now.  So this plan is for someone with similar skin.
If you have oily skin switch the moisturizers to Age Intervention Peptide Extreme AM and PM and switch the Cesta Serum to Cesta OC.  If you are not accustomed to AHAs (never used them or it has been more than 1 month since use) skip the Duality, Transitions and BioClear cream in the AM; instead use BioClear cream every other PM, for this first week.
To save on time I usually get in the shower during my masking time or clean my vanity or some other task.  It usually takes me around 5-6 minutes to complete all the steps (when no mask) so if it is taking more time than that; you are using too much product!  In general I use 1 pump of each or a pearl size amount.  The masks should be a thin layer, that you can see through.  Email me or leave a comment if you have questions about anything!

45 Days to Amazing Skin Challenge

I have been eating like crap lately.  My laziness has really kicked in and I have been running through the drive-thru a lot; and my poor skin has suffered from it.  So I have decided to put myself on a 45 day challenge to cleanup my eating and pamper my skin, from the inside.  I start tomorrow.  No sugar, no grains, no legumes and especially NO DIET COKE.  More vegetables, fruits, nuts and lean protein; I am even determined to start eating seafood.  I will workout 7 days a week, walk 10,000 steps a day and enjoy a spa treatment every Monday. Check back everyday and see my progress, tips and printable meal plans and workouts. And leave me a comment of encouragement!
